Breakfast in a Bowl
10/25/2010
Don't dump cold cereal. It may not be as tasty as a homemade omelet, but according to researchers it's better than most breakfasts. In a study of nearly 10,000 kids and teens, researchers learned that those who ate any type of cereal every morning got more fiber and nutrients than breakfast skippers or those who ate other types of breakfasts. Kids who didn't have breakfast, on the other hand, ate more sugar daily and were more likely to be obese. Though the study looked at cereal eaters in general, it's smartest to stick to varieties that are low in sugar and high in fiber.
