How much should my fiber intake be and how should I increase my fiber?
The recommended minimum daily intake for fiber is 14 grams per 1,000 calories, or about 25 to 30 grams of fiber per day. To avoid gastrointestinal distress, when increasing fiber intake be sure to drink plenty of water and make the increase gradual.

Medical Nutritional Therapists, Inc. is a firm of registered dietitians providing medical nutritional therapy services for individuals throughout Indiana and northwestern Ohio.  We also provide nutrition care and food management consulting services for all types of healthcare for public and private organizations throughout Indiana, Ohio, southern Michigan and northern Kentucky.  These include hospitals, long term healthcare facilities, such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities, group homes, schools and correctional facilities.
